Mothers Guilt.

Mothers guilt. Many benefit from it, including corporations who prey on my insecurity, trying to sell me c$&p I don't need.

You know who doesn't benefit from it, though?

My kids.

They benefit from a Mom who is joyful and confident in her abilities to raise her children.

So, as long as my kids are safe, fed, and happy, I declare myself as success and will do anything in my power to reject the guilt-riden thoughts, ideas, and behaviors.

I am not just a mother that's enough.

I am much more than that.

I am kind, curious, funny, protective and loving.

And I will not let fear-driven perfectionism steal my joy.

Parenting is not about checking off things from my to do list.

It is about the bond we have as a family.

And how much we want to spend time with each other, however imperfect we are.

Dear Mayya, drop the illusion that there is a right way to raise kids and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
