Give Yourself Permission To learn

You are not making mistakes. You are learning. Give yourself permission to learn.

The harsher you treat yourself for any mis - take, the less “takes” you are willing to take.

And with no new “takes”, you are limiting yourself to a narrow circle of things you learned when you were more forgiving to necessary mis-steps one must take to master the steps of the dance we call Life.

Develop soft and embracing attitude towards your gentle, curious, and often terrified Learning Self.

Harshness doesn’t open new doors and hold our hands as we dare to walk through them.

Tenderness does.

We all could use a source of steady, unwavering support as we embark on doing something new and frightening, be it learning meditation, or starting a new relationship or a new job.

Be that kind of support for yourself.

- Give yourself a hug.

- Take yourself out for lunch.

- Acknowledge out loud, again and again, the truth, “You are so brave to start something new. Your dedication and hard work will pay off.”

Stand on your own side, always.

P.S. Big thanks to my 1-year old puppy who taught me how to support myself. She is a gift from heaven.
