Draft post title
Hate networking? I feel you. Here is what worked for me:
I am not comfortable networking.
- I prefer walks in nature to loud bars.
- I prefer deep, meaningful conversations to small talk.
- I prefer maintaining long-term professional relationships when they are mutually enriching to meeting a lot of people in a shallow way.
But I am growing my business, and networking is a good way to reach my clients.
Here is the solution I found:
I will approach networking with the mindset of:
"I will talk to at least one person who will benefit from meeting me."
This way, I am not stuck in the "This feels sleazy and sales-y" mood.
Instead, I am oriented toward what matters to me most:
Serving someone and making a difference.
